Gettr (stylized GETTR) is a social media platform and microblogging site founded by Jason Miller, a former Donald Trump aide and spokesman. Jason Miller said Getter is “for everyone across the political spectrum” to come together and have debates as per the First Amendment. He also stated it was designed to be “cancel-free. A beta version of the platform launched on July 1, 2021  and officially launched on July 4, 2021. Its user interface and feature set have been described as very similar to those of Twitter. HOW TO POST ON GETTR

Type your GETTR message (up to 777 characters) into the compose box via the web, or click the post.png icon above the navigation bar via the app.

You can include up to 6 images (maximum file size 15MB), a GIF (maximum file size 5MB), a link, or a video (maximum file size 512 MB).

To upload a GIF, click gif.png to search and browse the GIF library. GIFs cannot be uploaded with other media files, you can only upload one GIF per post. The maximum file size for GIFs is 5 MB.

You can also upload photos, videos, or GIFs in a Reply or a Quote Post.

Tap or click the Post button to publish the post in your profile. This post will be visible to your followers and people who visit your profile.

Note: To save a draft of your GETTR post (only available on the app), click Cancel and click Save draft. This draft will appear the next time you want to make a new post.

HOW TO LIKE/UNLIKE A POST

Tap or click the Like icon  and it will turn red, confirming that you’ve liked the post.

To undo a Like, tap or click the Liked icon  and it will turn grey.

Where Do I See Posts I’ve Liked?

See all your liked posts by going to your profile: Navigate to the profile of your account and tap Likes.

PIN ON GETTR

You can pin one of your posts to the top of your profile page to keep it above all your other posts.

HOW TO PIN POST ON GETTR?

Find the post you want to pin

Tap or click the More icon on the top right corner of the post

Select “option

Tap or click Pin on the pop-up box

You just pinned a post to the top of your profile page on GETTR.

Note: You can only pin post that you have made.

HOW TO UNPIN POST?

Log into GETTR and tap or click on your Profile

Tap or click the More icon on the top right corner of your pinned post

Select Unpin from your profile” option

HOW TO FIND WHO LIKED OR REPOSTED YOUR POST

Curious to see who liked or reposted—whether it’s your post or someone else’s post?

Click anywhere on the post text, then click the number of Likes or Reposts. Here you can easily find the list of people who liked or reposted.

HOW TO USE HASTAGES ON GETTR

What Is a Hashtag?

A hashtag is used to tag a post with a keyword or a topic. This tag makes it easier for everyone to discover subjects of their own interests.

How to Use Hashtags?

To use a hashtag in your post/search, type the symbol # followed by the keyword you want to tag.

Tapping/clicking on a hashtag will allow you to find other posts tagged with the same hashtag.

Hashtags cannot contain spaces or punctuation.

Hashtags appear blue and they can be included anywhere in a post.

Tagging your post with hashtags will allow other people to find your post much easier.

There is a wide variety of content on GETTR, but hashtags make it much easier to find specific content you’re interested in.

Benefits of Using Hashtags

By including a hashtag in your post:

Anyone who does a search for that hashtag may find your post.

Anyone who clicks on a hashtagged word in any post will find other posts (likely including yours) that include this specific hashtag.

If your hashtag becomes very popular, they are more likely to become one of the trending topics.

MENTION OVERVIEW

In a post, you can mention other users by including their usernames anywhere in the body of the post .

If you include multiple usernames in your post, all of them will see your post in their timelines.

Visiting another account’s profile page on GETTR will not display posts that mention them. But you can search for posts mentioning their usernames. Read more about using search.

How to Post a Mention

Type your message in the post compose box.

Type “@” before the username when addressing a particular user. Make sure there is no space left between “@” and the username. Example: “Hello @GETTR”.

Click Post to finish.

Note: If your post is a reply, the icon to post will say Reply. When posted, the username in your post will become a link to the account’s profile page.

All links (URLs) in each post on GETTR are not shortened. Characters in URLs will count towards the total character limit (777).

Type or paste the URL into the post compose box.

Tap/click the Post button to post your message and link.

URL safety tips:

Some URLs can be harmful. Please be careful when clicking on links, especially ones that were shortened using an external link shortening service.

Always check to see what website you’re on before giving out your password or downloading any software.

To read other people’s replies to a post, tap or click anywhere on the post text and scroll down to view all the replies.

Note: Do not click on any interactive component in the post text, such as links, mentions, hashtags, etc.

• Tap or click the Reply icon
• Type your message in the compose box and click Reply to post it

• Tap or click Profile
• Tap or click Replies
• Find the reply you want to delete, click the More icon

            Select  Delete

HOW TO SHARE GETTR  POST ON OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS

Find the Share icon located on the bottom right corner of the post.

Tap or click the Share icon and you will have the option to share your post with people on Facebook or Twitter. If you use the GETTR App, you can also share on other platforms such as Whatsapp, Messages, etc. You will need to sign in to these apps on your device.

You can also copy and paste the link by clicking the Copy link icon to share with your friends via email, messages, etc.

HOW TO SHARE VIDEOS ON GETTR PLATFORM

You may record, edit, share, and upload a video using the GETTR app or web.

How do I watch a Video?

Videos and GIFs that appear in your timeline will automatically play as you browse the content.You may click the videos and GIFs to watch them on fullscreen.

HOW TO CHANGE VIDEO SPEED ON GETTR

Want to adjust how fast a video plays on GETTR? From the clip menu:

GETTR website: Click “1X”, choose a different speed from the popup window.

GETTR app: Keep tapping “1X” and stop at the speed you want to select.

WHY YOUR GETTR REPOST IS NOT AVAILABLE

Gettr encourage it users to share information or post of its users, but people keeps on asking why my repost is unavailable now? And this is why

• The post was deleted by its owner, sometimes people post out of so many influence or circumstances and when they realize their mistakes they quickly delete, immediately the post is deleted all the people who reposted it loss the content living it blank. Also

• The owner of that post was suspended for violating the GETTR Terms Of Use, Gettr is the most strong social media which never play with hackers, and users who does not abide by their rules guiding the use of the platform. Though it is new but it has suspended so many gettr account which some have been blocked so there for we edge all users to comport themselves on the platform to make it great with time.

GETTR’s Repost allows you and your friends to instantly share another user’s post with your followers and the world. You can repost anyone’s posts, even your own.

How Do I Repost?

Go to the GETTR post you would like to share with your followers

Tap or click the “Repost” icon

Choose Repost.

HOW TO BLOCK AND UNBLOKED ACCOUNT ON GETTR

What happens if you block an account?

When you block an account, they will not receive a notification saying that you’ve blocked them. However, if they visit your profile, they will see a message informing them that they’ve been blocked.

How do I block an account?

Locate the profile or a post of the account you wish to block.

Tap or click the “More” icon or click Block.

How do I unblock an account?

Select the Blocked tab.

Locate the account you wish to unblock and select Blocked.

What happens if you mute an account?

When you mute an account, you will no longer see posts from that user and you will not receive notifications about them. Their posts will be removed from your timeline without blocking or unfollowing them.

When you mute an account, they will not know that they’ve been muted and you can unmute them at any time.

Accounts that have been muted can still follow you and you can still follow muted accounts.

How do I mute an account?

Locate the profile of the account you wish to mute or locate a post made by the account you wish to mute

How do I unmute an Account?

Tap the icon on the bottom navigation bar on the app and tap Settings, or go to Settings on the web
